The impact of temperature and PH on the composition of gram negative bacteria’s outer membrane

How does growth temperature and pH affect the composition of 3-OH fatty acids in gram negative bacteria ?

Researchers show in the Bacteroidetes strains, a form of temperature adaptation mechanism, with a significant decrease in the ratio of iso versus anteiso or normal 3-OH FAs at lower temperature which can impact the fluidity of the membrane.

This study aligns with the significance of studying LPS structures and their impact on virulence under both body temperature and environmental conditions.

At LPS-BioSciences we do an array of up to 10, 3-OH FAs found in the membranes of gram-negative bacteria.
