LPS-BioSciences was glad to exchange with Pr. Dr. Otto Holst invited for 1 month by Paris South University as invited Professor and to initiate a collaboration on LPS and LTA molecules. Pr. Otto Holst is currently president of IEIIS, the International Endotoxin and Innate Immune Society.

LPS-BioSciences has extended its activity of Antigen targeting and purification to the field of Bacterial detection and in vitro Diagnostic.
Thanks to innovative methods of purification and experienced know-how in structural characterization, we collaborate with industrial companies wishing to develop or improve Diagnostic tests. LPS-BioSciences provides the best purified antigens for Diagnostic Development.
Publication of the results from the 18th FUI Grant:
The french ministry in charge of the competitiveness clusters, with the french regions, announced the funding of 67 projects selected during the 18th FUI Grant.
The final list is available on the following webpage:
The BactiDIAG project with LPS-BioSciences as industrial partner with BioRad and CEA Leti is part of the granted projects supported by BPI France and Île-de-France region.
The objective of the project is to commercialize a new rapid diagnostic test for sepsis which will enable early support of patients and a more efficient treatment
In June 2012, LPS-BIOSCIENCES started working with CEVA PHYLAXIA, a French group, globally ranked number 8 company in Animal Health.
Thanks to its experience in the extraction and analysis of bacterial endotoxins, LPS-BIOSCIENCES worked on the purification and characterization of certain active ingredients in the composition of vaccines from CEVA's portfolio. The aim of this collaboration was also to prepare certain reagents needed for the quality control of these vaccines for animal production of the French group. These studies are conducted to enhance the biochemical characterization of the active ingredients, demonstrate the structure-function relationships in addition to efficacy studies carried out ex-vivo in the target animal (immunological studies cell cultures), using the material extracted, purified and characterized by LPS-BioSciences.
Two years later, the collaboration has resulted in various contracts and additional topics like the measurement of endotoxin level in complex environment.
Jerome Thevenon, R & D Ceva Phylaxia testifies, "an important point for us is the LPS-BioSciences capacity to integrate from the beginning of a project, industrial and regulatory constraints we are facing to respond to it by giving us access to fine structural analysis and expertise and helping us interpret and share our results. "
To do so, LPS-BioSciences relies on two capacities:
LPS-BioSciences is also developing its own in-house vaccine adjuvants from an innovative process of detoxification of endotoxins. It started preclinical testing phase of its candidates with the goal to providing a proof of concept in mid-2015, for the use of its new molecules on the growing market of human and animal vaccine adjuvants.
Dr. Martine CAROFF and Dr. Alexey at the IEEIS congress Tokyo 2012
The European Eurofed Lipid Congress held in Montpellier in 14-17 September 2014 was gathering 900 participants.
Oils, Fats and Lipids were presented in domains like Health, Biology, Microbiology, Agriculture and Industry.
In a session devoted to Microbial lipids, Pr. J.-O. Lee from Korea gave a talk on "Recognition of lipopolysaccharides by TLR4 and its accessory proteins". This talk explained how different LPS structures were recognized by the MD2-TLR4 complex and was followed by examples in the presentation "Structures to activities relationships in the Bordetella lipopolysaccharides" presented by Dr. Martine Caroff. It was shown how discrete modifications of lipid A structures could lead to drastic changes in the cytokine induction process.
